The Mersey Valley Countryside Warden Service manages a wide range of countryside sites along the banks of the River Mersey, from the Manchester – Stockport boundary in the East to the Manchester Ship Canal in the West.

Covering many square miles of open green space, your local countryside could be nearer to your doorstep than you might think.

keep your eyes peeled for our nature trail signs next time you pop down to Stenner and Millgate. The trail is aimed at families, but we hope everyone will be able to learn a little from it. There are six signs dotted around the site. It doesn't matter which order you do them in, but to help you find them, we've put together a trail sheet which you can download here.
